The mission of the Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board is to integrate those youth and adults facing barriers to employment in to the labor force by providing customer driven job training and other employability support services that will result in increased levels of employment opportunities, wage earnings, and enhanced educational and occupational skills, thereby improving the quality of the workforce and enhancing the productivity and competitiveness of Macomb and St. Clair county employers and the employer base in Southeast Michigan. Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board is committed to being the leader in coordinating and providing quality, comprehensive workforce development, employment, and training services through collaboration with business, education and other key local government and community organizations. John Bierbusse, Executive Director of Macomb-St. Clair Michigan Works!, serves as representative on WIN’s board.
Justin Al-Igoe is the Executive Director of the Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board. He has been employed in various Workforce Development occupations since 2008. Prior to that, he worked for several years on Community Action programs in Washtenaw County.
Al-Igoe began as a career navigator and case manager with Washtenaw County Michigan Works! before serving as the Assistant Director at Livingston County Michigan Works! He joined the newly created Michigan Works! Southeast in 2016 and served as the Policy and Operations Manager.
Al-Igoe holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is also an Officer in the United States Navy Reserve and has received commendations for his service during deployments to the Middle East and Africa.
Al-Igoe serves as Chair of the Macomb Community Action Advisory Board and as a member of the Macomb County Human Services Collaborative Body. Originally from Hawaii, he has lived in southeast Michigan most of his life. He and his wife, Rana, married in 2003 and have two daughters, Jasmine and Jenna.
