DETROIT, MI – More than 50 companies will be at career fair in Troy next week that looks to hire some 500 job seekers.
The hiring companies will have positions in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, banking, sales, retail, driving, customer service, information technology, healthcare, the service industry and others. The event is sponsored by JobFairGiant.com.
Some of the participating companies include Hendrick Automotive Group, MotorCity Electric Technologies, The Home Depot Stores, Quicken Loans, Dish Network, QEK (Penske Automotive Group), the City of Birmingham, Michigan; Global Information Technology, First Financial Insurance Group, The Art Institute and HTC Global Services, to name a few. The unemployment rate in the Detroit-Warren-Livonia metro area stood at 8.0 percent in December, according to preliminary numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate for the area was at 8.3 percent in November, and at 10.2 percent in December 2012.
