WIN releases the WIN Region report, in addition to the City of Detroit and individual county reports, as new data becomes available. The most recent commuting pattern reports were released in 2018 and summarize data for the year 2015.
The 16-county region presents a strong analysis of the labor shed within greater southeast Michigan: about 91 percent of the WIN Region’s residents both live and work in the 16-county area. There is a high level of commuting within the region, however, as about 23 percent of the workforce typically commute over 25 miles to their place of work.
