MADCAT Quarterly Meeting

Join our next Michigan Automotive and Defense Cyber Awareness Team (MADCAT) quarterly meeting on Wednesday, June 26th at Macomb Community College (South Campus) to discuss items of interest in the cyber space, and meet other professionals working to advance Michigan’s role in this dynamic field.
Our special guest speaker is Andrea Anderson from Apprenti’s National office out of Seattle. Andrea Anderson serves as the Senior Manager of Program Development with the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) Apprenti Program. She has over 15 years of workforce development experience specializing in creating and expanding innovative Registered Apprenticeship in non-traditional occupations. As the Director of Apprenticeship at the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) and later with the Apprenticeship section of L&I, Andrea oversaw issues of apprenticeship operations, implementation, compliance and finding creative solutions to grow apprenticeship. Andrea has a BA from Concordia College and has served on several boards relating to education and healthcare.
Background on Apprenti: Workforce Intelligence Network for Southeast Michigan (WIN) has partnered with Apprenti to bring the nationally-recognized, DOL-approved, registered IT apprenticeship program to Southeast Michigan. Apprenti’s presence in Southeast Michigan will help to augment the existing talent pool using its nationally recognized “turn-key” framework to help provide a reliable pipeline for underrepresented groups to gain training, certification, and placement within the tech industry.
ALSO, there will be a special tour offered to view the Cyber Truck Challenge taking place at the MCC Sports and Expo Center at 3:00 pm. Due to the sensitivity of the information at the Cyber Truck Challenge, anyone who would like to attend, must sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to attending the tour.
