Free financial education seminars are scheduled in Detroit as part of the Federal Reserve Bank‘s Money Smart Week.

Focus: Hope will host sessions 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the nonprofit’s Center for Advanced Technologies at 1400 Oakman Blvd.

The one-hour workshops will focus on financial aid and student loans, small business finance, credit repair, home and auto financing, and retirement savings. Children are encouraged to join their parents and a Kids’ Money Matters program will be offered throughout the day.

Best Bank, First Merit Bank, Flagstar Bank, the National Lawyers Guild and the Public Service Credit Union are working with Focus: Hope on the event.

Money Smart Week is a national public awareness campaign to promote financial education across all age groups.
