You probably heard nursing mentioned as a good career option, and it is. A survey of St. Clair County Community College nursing graduates routinely finds that nearly all of them secure a job within six months of graduation.
Nursing is ranked first on a list compiled by the state of Michigan of the fastest growing careers in the Detroit area (including St. Clair County), with more than 6,000 advertised vacancies through 2020. Registered nurses earn an average of $65,000 per year in Michigan.
