DETROIT, MI – ADP Dealer Services is setting up a “Digital Marketing Innovation Center” in downtown Detroit’s Renaissance Center as part of a more-than-$3 million investment that will add 150 jobs.

A $1.5 million Michigan Business Development performance-based grant, approved by the state on Wednesday, helped attract the company to the Motor City.

“This welcome decision by ADP is a vote of confidence in the future of Detroit and our state,” Gov. Rick Snyder said in a statement. “I applaud the company for committing to this impressive investment.”

According to a memo to board members of the Michigan Strategic Fund, the company chose Detroit over Seattle and its hometown of Hoffman Estates, Ill. The City of Detroit is also expected to offer the firm a personal property tax abatement.

ADP Dealer Services provides computer services to truck, automotive, marine and heavy equipment dealers. It is a division of Automatic Data Processing.

Its work in Detroit will include digital marketing technology and services. The new office will open in May, and hiring has already begun.
