DETROIT, MI – Despite reporting only modest growth of late, southeastern Michigan has reached the highest levels of employment reported since December 2008.
The Workforce Intelligence Network of Southeast Michigan, a collaboration between nine area community colleges, seven Michigan Works! agencies and other organizations, reports that more than 2.3 million people were employed in the third quarter of 2014.
Since 2009, the unemployment rate has fallen from around 14 percent to about 8 percent, WIN reports.
