Deja is the Research Assistant for the Workforce Intelligence Network for Southeast Michigan. Her role supports WIN’s research directors and other staff, performing research and analysis for education, workforce, and industry partners to fulfill data requests, write quarterly labor market reports and other research projects.
Prior to joining the WIN’s team, Deja worked in and around many municipalities in the State of Michigan, providing sustainable programming and consulting to the City of Detroit, City of Highland Park, City of Lansing, and the City of Flint. During this time, she achieved over five years of experience in the planning profession, in addition to becoming experienced in a variety of software programs. She brings a multitude of skills from her previous positions, including research and analysis, community development, community facilitation, affordable housing policy creation, and data collection.
Deja is a Detroit native and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University. She also holds a Master of Science Degree in Urban Planning with a specialization in Community and Housing Development from Wayne State University, which drives her passion for community equity in workforce development.
