Megan McCoy is the Business Partnerships Coordinator at the Workforce Intelligence Network for the Great Lakes Bay Region working with the state initiative known as MI Bright Future. MI Bright Future is a collaboration between students, educators, and employers that aims to introduce young job seekers to the region’s growing occupations by matchmaking through an easy-to-use online platform. Megan’s focus is with enrolling businesses and professionals in the system, allowing students to have a diverse population of company profiles to view and interact with.
Megan’s previous experience includes a range of education-based experience. Megan has completed two internships with the Walt Disney World Company and an internship with Detroit’s Quicken Loans that has led her to be an advocate for experiential learning. Most of Megan’s career has been spent being an informal teacher in a non-profit setting. Megan most recently was a Career and College Advisor at two high schools in Saginaw where she experienced firsthand the trends that students are facing when pursing their post-secondary career plans.
Megan is a native to Michigan and attended Saginaw Valley State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in communications. She has returned to SVSU for her Master’s in Public Administration with a Student Affairs track and her Master’s in Communications and Media Administration. She resides in Bay City with her two dogs, two cats, and husband, who coaches Track and Field at SVSU.
